PTE Re-Order Paragraph Tips and Tricks

Attempting Reorder Paragraphs can be tricky if you do not follow a right strategy.  In this post, we are going to discuss a brief guide on how to rearrange the sentences in the right order.  In the re-order paragraphs, you will be given sentences which do not appear in the right order.  Your task is to rearrange the sentences in the correct order.  This is one of the easiest and scoring sections of the PTE test if you follow a strategy.  Below mentioned are several useful tricks that can help you get through the PTE test effectively.

·         Skim and Scan- The first and foremost thing you need to do is, to skim and scan the passages effectively. This will give you a rough idea of what the topic is all about.  The purpose of the skimming and scanning should be to read the important points of the text without leaving out important details.

·         Identify the Main Idea- Read and identify the main idea of the paragraph. You can read a few sentences of the paragraph to understand the main idea. This would give you a brief idea of what you are going to read in the passage.

·         Pay attention to pronouns- Pronouns are used to refer person names or important keywords.  Focusing pronouns will help you get a better of the sentence structure and relate it better to the sentences. Focusing on pronouns will help you re-order the sentences in a better way.

·         Keep an Eye on Transition Words- Transitional words are signs that make transition between sentences easier. These words help to shift from one idea to the next.  These are words like- moreover, similarly, hence, otherwise, therefore, besides, then, yet, etc.

·         Look for clues- We recommend candidates to look for any clear clues referring to the logical order or chronology of events. Let us say for an example that words like first, second, lastly, next, then, and so on.

·         Time Management- Time management is the key to complete the test on time.  While you are attempting, keep on the timer which is situated on the upper right hand corner of the computer screen.  This will help you complete the test on time.
